Objective
Most clinicians are familiar with using an XCP RINN holder system. Though the XDR aiming rods and rings offer advantages over an XCP system (flexibility during placement, and adjustability when using a handheld X-ray generator), some clinicians have reservations in changing their process.
Design
To help with the transition, XDR’s holder system has been designed so that its components are compatible with the XCP RINN system.
Results
The XDR holder system provides the same capabilities with fewer parts, making for simpler, quicker assembly. Each bite piece can be used as a holder on its own, or be attached to an aiming rod and ring to support paralleling technique.
Also, elements of XDR holder system can be used with XCP RINN elements. The XDR bite pieces can also be used with the XCP RINN aiming rods and rings.
- The XDR Anterior PA biteblock holder can be attached to the XCP Stainless Steel Indicator Arm (Blue pins) along with the XCP Anterior Ring (Blue).
- The XDR Horizontal and Vertical Bitewing biteblock holders can be attached to the XCP Stainless Steel Indicator Arm (Red pins) along with the XCP Bitewing Ring (Red).
- The XDR Posterior PA biteblock holder can be attached to the XCP Stainless Steel Indicator Arm (Yellow pins) along with the XCP Bitewing Ring (Yellow).
Conclusion
Clinicians have the option of using their existing XCP RINN aiming rods and rings. This may save the practice time, money, and stress – while providing a transition to the benefits of XDR’s holder system.
